I love entertaining, and feeding people. It’s totally my thing. Or at least, it was until I had a baby. It’s virtually impossible to properly host, catch up with friends and remember to keep the booze flowing and the food coming with a little one. I’m sure once he’s older, I’ll happily resume my hosting hobbies, but for now I’m more than happy to play guest at other people’s parties.
If you invite me to your party this summer, I won’t show up empty-handed. I swear. I’ll bring one of my favorite summer appetizers. Currently though, I’m addicted to the Mexican Street Corn Salad, so I’ll likely be making it for the fourth.
Bacon Wrapped Jalapeno Poppers
These are a little time consuming, but delicious and always a hit. Slice jalapenos in half, stuff each half with cream cheese, wrap each half with bacon and bake until bacon is crispy and cheese is melted. [Image via sallysbakingaddiction.com]
Pigs in a Blanket
You don’t really need the recipe for this one. It’s a two ingredient recipe, mini hot dogs and crescent rolls. But, these make me super happy and they disappear immediately, every time. [ Image via aprilgolightly.com ]
My mom used to make this spinach dip almost every weekend for our family BBQs. It’s a classic and serving it in a crusty bread bowl makes it even better! All you need is the Knorr Vegetable Soup Mix. Follow the directions on the packet and you got yourself the best dip everyone will love. To make it a bit healthier, I switched to yogurt instead of the sour cream. [ Image just2sisters.com ]
