Which Tequila Should You Use to Make a Margarita?
The first few times I made it I used 1800 silver tequila, then I found that Trader Joe’s had their own
blanco version, but this week I decided to splurge a little with Casamigos Tequila.
The tequila is important if you’re going to do shots, but to be honest you don’t need expensive alcohol to make
a mean margarita, or any cocktail.
If you’re thinking you don’t have the time or patience to make your own watermelon juice. You do. I promise.
Cut up a bunch of watermelon, throw it in a blender and voilá—you have watermelon juice.
My ninja does all the heavy work for me, and then I simply put it in a pitcher in my fridge and it’s good for a few days.

3 oz fresh watermelon juice

2 oz tequila blanco

¾ oz. fresh lime juice
Directions
- Place some salt on a small plate. Rub rim of an old-fashioned or rocks glass with lime wheel (reserve for serving); dip in salt.
2. Combine watermelon juice, tequila, and lime juice in a cocktail shaker. Fill shaker with ice, cover, and shake vigorously until outside of shaker is very cold, about 20 seconds. Pour contents into prepared glass. Garnish with reserved lime wheel, or basil and blueberries.
