Pour olive oil in a pan and add onion. Sauté until the onion is translucent (2 to 3 minutes). Add salt and pepper and garlic and cook for a few more minutes.
Add ground turkey and mix the onion and garlic into the ground meat. Cook until the turkey is browned. Add salt and pepper to taste.
Add enchilada sauce and continue to cook until the turkey meat has absorbed most of the sauce.
Take the pan off the heat. Layer the skillet with tortilla chips and top with shredded cheese.
Place skillet in the broiler for 4-5 minutes or until the cheese has melted and the tortilla chips are crispy. Watch your broiler so the cheese and the tortilla chips won't burn.
Take the enchilada skillet out of the oven and add favorite toppings. Avocado, sour cream, salsa, cilantro and green onion. Serve immediately with additional tortilla chips on the side.
