When to throw away makeup

After  battling an  eye infection last year, I started thinking about how careless I’ve been with my face and makeup. Up until then I haven’t giving much thought to eye care or how old was the makeup I put on my face daily. But turns out, makeup has a definite expiration date and it’s not just when you find a melted lipstick  in your purse. Read on to find out when to throw away makeup.

How old is my mascara? When did I change my eyeliner? How long have I had that eye shadow? Why haven’t I thought about a makeup shelf life before?

So, I went through my makeup and tossed items that were more than a year old. It felt good. Do you have tons of old makeup lying around? Get rid of it! If you’re not sure, check out the handy infographic below to help you decide what should stay and what should go. Now, go and throw away some makeup.

Since I already started working on my skincare routine, it made sense to also think about a makeup routine. Tossing old things means replacing them with new and exciting things. Next on deck, a makeup routine. Take a peak at some of my favorites below!

Very helpful! I did a YouTube video on this a few years ago. I’ve noticed I keep my glosses for waaaaay too long, I love buying them but def. don’t wear them often enough and when they smell funny I know it’s def time to toss them but I should toss them sooner haha.
