Staying home with baby FLO has some amazing perks and I feel so lucky to be able to stay home with him at the moment. But, this also means that most of our days are pretty mundane. So, when we have events on the calendar, I get incredibly excited to break out of our routine. It’s safe to say that I have been looking forward to this weekend’s wedding for an entire summer.
In general, I love weddings. I have no idea why some folks complain about going to a wedding. It’s like a guaranteed perfect evening out. Love. Romance. Drinks. Dinner. Dancing. And on top of that, everyone dressed up, happy and in love. Weddings are regular people’s Oscars!
We kicked off this wedding season with Mauricio’s cousin’s wedding. It was really lovely. If you follow me on snap, you may have caught a glimpse of the couple. Her dress was gorgeous! Also, they had a really beautiful wedding cake—which is one item in my own wedding that was a complete disaster, not that it matters, of course.
Most of my excitement centered around the fact that I found a baby tuxedo for baby FLO. I even got him little booties to match, but they were too small two weeks later for the wedding.
I thought that I would fit into my go-to LBD, but I’m still not quite at my pre-baby weight, so I had to find something else. I ordered a few dresses from Nordstrom and ended up choosing this one. I was on the fence about the print and style because sometimes flowy dresses, can make you look heavier when you’re not very tall, but this one was really comfortable, and fit ‘the girls’ well. I also wore my cheap spanx from Target, which really made me feel pulled together. It was so much fun to get dressed up for the night, even though it took baby FLO two days to recover. But, I’d be willing to put up with a cranky baby for a few more summer nights out.
besos,
Alina
