To celebrate the arrival of our baby boy we decided to celebrate with tacos & tequila. Here is a look at our co-ed baby shower.

Few years back, our friends had a co-ed baby shower. Since then, I loved the idea of celebrating the arrival of our baby together with all of our friends and family. It’s amazing to think how many people around us already love the little boy in my belly.
Everyone also loves tacos and tequila. So it was a no brainer to do its as our theme for the co-ed baby shower. Especially, since we met in Cancun, got married in Mexico and Mauricio’s is half Mexican.
Since I was seven months pregnant I didn’t want to DIY the decorations, so I ordered things online from our invitations to the decor.
Tacos & Tequila Baby Shower: The Menu
We created a delicious margarita bar, complete with jalapeños and berries for garnish, and various tequilas to sample. Try the spicy skinny margarita or a watermelon margarita for your next party.
There is a great, authentic Mexican tacoria right around the corner from us, that caters amazing Mexican staples.
We ordered a variety of tacos, Mexican rice, beans and fresh tortillas and I also made a salad and a few other sides.
The Corona and Margarita cookies are from French’s Cupcake Bakery in Costa Mesa.
The Cadillac Margarita cupcakes actually had tequila in the batter and icing. I didn’t try them ( obviously), but heard they were delicious.
Decorating for our Mexican Inspired Fiesta
As I mentioned I didn’t DIY much of this baby shower theme, but I found so many great items on Amazon that it was super easy to decorate and have lots of color for Mexican Fiesta theme.
I scored authentic table runners online and miniature piñatas. Amazon finds for the win. I linked all of my fiesta decorations through my Amazon storefront.
Party Favors and Well Wishes
For our party favors I DIY’ed mini soaps to play up the “shower” theme. Did you know it’s super easy to make your own soap. Here is a handy DIY post. It’s also inexpensive.
I purchased our thank you cards and well wishes for the baby cards from the same Etsy shop to match our invitations.
