motherhood update

Before writing this post I read through my very first motherhood update four years ago. And all those first time mom emotions came rushing back. Motherhood the second time around is so different. Sharing my thoughts on becoming a mom again.

Motherhood Update // Second Time Around

One of the first things I noticed about motherhood the second time around is my anxiety levels. I’m so much more calm and less anxious in all aspects of having a newborn at home. That’s not to say I’m less attentive or careless, I’m still googling and worried about little things as any new mom, but overall I feel a a level of confidence I didn’t have before.

The first time I struggled with listening to my own voice and constantly questioned whether I was doing the right thing or using the right product. With our second baby I found my confidence in being his mother a lot more quickly. Just like I found the essential products I wanted to use with a lot more confidence.

Which is why making the choice to use Triple Paste was an easy one. It’s pediatrician recommended, dermatologist tested, and endorsed by the National Eczema Association.

Triple Paste (find it here on Amazon), helps protect and prevent diaper rash, can be used as a diaper cream and also diaper ointment that treats and soothes.

It’s fragrance-free, paraben-free, preservative-free, talc-free and phthalate-free, so I feel confident using it with our new addition.

Is Having a Second Child Harder?

I was terrified of having a second baby because I couldn’t imagine how we would manage it all. Or how I would be able to divide my attention effectively between two kids. But, we have all managed surprisingly well.

One of the best pieces of advice I received was to focus attention on the older child, because the baby won’t remember but the older child will. My goal was to implement as much as possible alone time withĀ  Fernando so he doesn’t feel left out, but anytime I’ve suggested it he wanted the baby to be with us.

So my biggest worry about managing hurt feelings have discipitated. We are almost two months into our journey as a family of four and though it certainly not easy we are loving this new normal.
