I was really reluctant to write this post, mostly because I had to admit failure. But failure is part of the journey, so here is my truth. I have tried over and over again, but have ultimately failed at creating a bullet journal. I still love the idea of it, but I didn’t prioritize the key element of bullet journaling, which is creating the calendar blueprint ahead of time. But, out of the ashes—not literally, don’t worry I didn’t burn any journals for therapeutic reasons—arose a new organizational technique that I’d like to share. Read on to find out why mornings are for getting organized.
I may have reverted to my old ways of using a planner and post its, but that doesn’t mean that I have failed at every aspect of being more organized. Having a planner that has been already populated with future dates allowed me to just focus on jotting everything down. It’s not always neat. It’s not instagram pretty. But, it works in helping me transfer my thoughts. As well as allows me to easily plan ahead. The key issue I had with bullet journaling.
The light bulb, or the “aha” moment in my success has come from how I manage my mornings. Setting time aside to get organized first thing in the morning has really made an impact.
Yes, this means the baby watches cartoons for a few minutes, or eats a banana, or rummages through a drawer or two, while I sit and write out my plan of attack for the day. It’s intentional, it’s focused and and it’s working. Mornings, I found are for getting organized.
It also helps me remember to do the important things in life, like slow down and have a cup of matcha, prioritize and also take my vitamins!
I first discovered Nature Made Gummies, which are first gummies certified by USP for purity and potency, while pregnant. A nurse friend recommended them to me and now they are simply part of my routine.
Then, realizing just how much hair I lost after the baby, I also started taking Nature Made® Biotin Adult Gummies. Biotin may help support healthy hair, skin and nails in those that are biotin deficient.† And Nature Made The gummies have 3000mcg of biotin, and they are also quite tasty. “A gummy you can trust” It’s like having candy for breakfast. My hair stylist also said my hair has gotten much thicker again, so woo! You can find the gummies at your local Walmart, It’s an easy step to add to your morning routine.

As for my mornings, sitting down with intention to organize my day, glance at my monthly calendar, check the fridge, make a list all before doing anything else that day really helps me to stay on track. I find that I am more focused to get things accomplished simply by having a moment to think.
What are some of your organizational techniques that help you? Has anyone had success with bullet journaling? Let me know!

Alina

Getting organized helps me have a much better day too! And this totally reminded me that I haven’t taken any vitamins in a while… need to check these out!
I can only take gummy vitamins-pills are awdul! And I only use planners where I can see the entire week, and preferably month ahead! I definitely couldn’t bullet journal!
Yes I couldn’t agree more!
I need to use a traditional planner, too! I like being able to see what’s coming up. And I’m a huge fan of gummy vitamins, too. Hate swallowing pills!
I love using a bullet journal to keep track of my daily lists. Thanks for sharing! ~client
