Kitchen Remodel Update

You may have seen on Instagram, that we embarked on a kitchen remodel, so I thought I’d share an update.

What did we change in our kitchen?

First, it might be unfair to call our kitchen update a remodel. In truth, we only changed the countertops from insanely hideous tile to quartz. I chose Liberty Gold —I love that the veins are subtle and have a flow. We also updated the backsplash with classic white subway tile but with a satin finish. A friend called our kitchen makeover a glow up—and that’s exactly what it feels like.

Are we done with our kitchen project?

Every contractor told us to not change the cabinets since they were in great shape, but after the new countertops and backsplash were completed, I knew the kitchen would look so much better if we painted the cabinets.

So, still on the list is to paint the cabinets. I’m thinking navy blue on the bottom and the island and white on the top. I think it will make our kitchen area feel brighter and lighter and give us that coastal beach vibe which I resisted in the past, but now want to completely embrace it in every room.

Another great way to save money on a kitchen remodel, is to change the cabinet pulls. It seems such a small thing, but updating the hardware can really revamp the kitchen and make it new on a budget.

Favorite Kitchen Must Haves

One of my all time favorite updates has been the purchase of our sink. It looks expensive but was actually quite reasonable. The sink alone has transformed our kitchen. It’s stunning and much more comfortable. Truthfully, I didn’t think a sink could transform a kitchen as much as this sink did.
