Celebrated Baby FLO’s First Birthday with an Ice Cream Social Birthday Bash. Read on for details of the birthday party.
First Birthday Party Ice Cream Social Celebration
Everyone asked what would be the theme of baby FLO’s first birthday. His baby shower was a tequila and taco fueled fiesta, so folks expected us to come up with something memorable and fun for this very first birthday, and we did. Our theme was, “we made it!” Ha! At least that’s what it felt like. We have kept this precious, tiny thing alive and well for an entire year, someone pop the champagne! And we did that too. Here are a few highlights from baby FLO’s first birthday bash!
I chose pastel colors to celebrate our spring baby. The balloons were from a local party store and I ordered these tassels from Amazon. They were pre-cut, but each one had to be taped, so it was a little bit of work. The packaging says to use two pre-cut papers per tassel, but I used one and got double the decorations. So, money well spent!
We had easy appetizers for everyone, white wine sangria with mint and elderflower liqueur. Later we grilled burgers and hot dogs and also had fries from McDonalds. [When baby FLO was just a couple months old, Mauricio started calling him papas fritas (french fry in Spanish), and the name stuck. So fries were definitely necessary.
Then we decided to have a milkshake bar. We kept it simple with just vanilla ice cream, but offered lots of fun toppings. We also had vanilla vodka, if adults wanted to make their milkshake boozy!
Our Ice Cream Social Birthday Party Set Up
Benny was clearly not into any of this, but everyone else had a great time. We had lots of family and friends and baby FLO enjoyed his very own cake.
Turns out we did have a theme after all. Burgers, fries and shakes! I guess our themes are all about food and drink—which is perfectly us, anyways! Hope you all had a great weekend, and if you celebrated with us—Thank you, we love you all!
