Galentine’s Day in a Little Red Dress

To keep with my resolution to be more brave and confident in my skin, I accepted an invitation to attend a Galentine’s day event for bloggers. Despite sharing so much online, blogging can be an isolating activity. Add to that the fact that I spend most of my days talking to an 11 month old, who does make up for being a poor conversationalist by being extra cute, it can get pretty lonely. So as scary as it was, I put on a little red dress. Declared last Saturday a #mombreak day, and headed out. Read on for more about my Galentine’s Day in a little red dress.

The Style Collective event—an online blogging community I joined a few months back— was held at the Shade Hotel, at Redondo Beach. Their waterfront restaurant Sea Level is gorgeous and overlooks the marina. Not only was the location beautiful, but I received a glass of champagne in my hand as soon as I arrived. And that makes everything better.

Why haven’t I thought of having centerpieces made out of macarons?! These Lette Macarons were divine. I had three before we even had appetizers.  Core Water provided refreshments, and their coconut flavor was one of my favorite.

And of course there were goodie bags! One of the organizers, Jessica of www.petitestylescript.com loves Dermalogica and they provided each blogger with a sample of their daily superfoliant, we also received  a gift from Bloomingdale’s and the Kiehl’s counter. And if you’re wondering about those giant balloons, they were provided by Balloon Celebrations. There was also a show raffle from GuiltySoles.com,  a $30 gift card to use on their site.

There is also a recap on Global Thrive by the amazing Catherine Grace O, who was the other organizer of the event. It was so fun to meet other ladies and not feel so isolated on this blogging journey.

My little red dress ( now on sale!) had pockets and 3/4 length sleeves, and both of these things are my favorite.  And if you caught my InstStories than you know I had to do a little magic to these old black heels. It involved nail polish, but don’t they look great?!
