Raise your hand if your significant other constantly “borrows” your shampoo, soap or lotions? In our bathroom, all these items seem to be fair play. Even my towel gets borrowed on occasion. Knowing that whatever product I buy and leave in our bathroom will get used, I use it as an opportunity to encourage a little self-care. Here are four simple ways to help your partner practice better self-care. It’s a sweet way to show you care and want to pamper them.
Four Simple Ways To Help Your Partner Practice Better Self-Care
Hair
I like to have a few shampoo options in the shower. One of my favorites has been Head & Shoulders. It’s my go-to after using dry shampoo. (#momlife anyone?) It really feels like it cleanses my scalp. I love it for him, too, because it nourishes the scalp and also helps get rid of any product residue and dandruff. And now Dollar General has a NEW scent: Head & Shoulders Calming Lavender Shampoo and Conditioner. It’s everything you want in a shampoo and a conditioner—soothing and refreshing.
Leave it in the shower and your significant other gets shiny, manageable hair and a nourished scalp—just like you.
By the way, Dollar General (find one near you here) is currently offering $3 off 2 Head & Shoulders products through Thursday, October 28th, so stock up! Grab the coupon here.
Face
If you’ve been following me for a while, then you may have noticed I’ve become pretty enamored with skincare. This means Mau has been watching my nightly beauty routine and Sunday face masks with some curiosity. Or more accurately, shock at my tremendous routine. Once in a while, I’ll hand over my anti-aging cream and offer to give him a mask. Couples who do crazy charcoal masks together, stay together…right?!
So treat your person to a spa-like experience. Once in a while and let them experience some face therapy! A perfect way to help your partner practice better self-care.
Skin
I’m pretty much addicted to all things lavender at the moment. From essential oils to my Head & Shoulders Calming Lavender Shampoo and Conditioner, and now my bedside lotion is also lavender. I love its calming properties! I always apply it before bed, and I often reach over and share it.
So we both get the benefit of nourished, calming skin. Easy way to better self-care.
Nails
I typically do my own manicures and pedicures. And now I’m also responsible for the nail care of all my boys—including Benny the Beagle! It might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but I really don’t mind giving a little hand massage and a nail trim. If it’s not for you, treat your significant other to a mani & pedi date! It’s fun for everyone involved and a sweet way to pamper your partner.
So, if your significant other is constantly “borrowing” your items, don’t get upset. Encourage it and consider it your duty to help them practice better self-care. Just maybe hide your expensive night creams!
besos,
Alina
