Five Ways To Relax When You’ve Had a Crazy Week

Five Ways To Relax When You've Had a Crazy Week

This post has been sponsored by Cetaphil®. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I’ve been craving a spa outing. The kind that takes all day or maybe all weekend and the kind that really lets you getaway and relax. I wish I could say that this means I’m booking myself a staycation for the weekend, but after a recent Vegas trip, another outing is definitely not in the cards. So, I decided on the next best thing. Treat myself to a mini-spa routine at home. Here are five ways to relax when you’ve had a crazy week!

Five Ways To Relax When You’ve Had a Crazy Week

Give Yourself a Facial

You may not have any necessary equipment at home for a proper facial, but that doesn’t mean you can’t go the extra mile with a super involved nighttime beauty routine.

A new trend is to double cleanse. Have you heard about this?

It doesn’t mean to wash your face twice.

Instead, it means to first use an oil-based cleanser and then a water-based cleanser. It’s a big misconception that you shouldn’t put oil on your face, it’s a great for removing all the pore clogging junk.

For a second cleanser I like a very mild, soap-free formula like Cetaphil® Gentle Skin Cleanser which I recently picked up at CVS. There is a reason it’s Allure Magazine’s ‘Reader’s Choice Award’ winner and the #1 Dermatologist Recommended Facial Skincare Brand. It’s gentle, yet moisturizing.

Also try the Hydrating Eye Gel-Cream by Cetaphil®. It is perfect for that after-spa glow we are after. It deeply hydrates for 24 hours, so you’ll be reaping its benefits the next day too.

Through September 27th, you can save $2 on ONE Cetaphil® product at CVS!

Give Yourself a Foot Massage

Of course if someone volunteered to provide a foot massage, we’d be all over that. But, did you know that a tennis ball can be your best friend when you need to release some stress?

Place a tennis ball on the floor and gently roll it under your foot. In a few minutes you will loosen up all those ligaments and you may even feel your back relax too.

By the way, CVS sells tennis balls! So you can pick up all the essentials for your mini-spa there.

Use a Foam Roller

If you haven’t purchased one of these yet, let me be the first person to say you need this in your life. Can’t get to a spa for a deep-tissue massage? A foam roller comes in pretty close and can easily release muscle tightness.

It’s especially great for your back, if you’ve been sitting around a lot.

Light Some Candles & Oils

Want to feel like you’re at the spa? Make your room smell like one. Diffuse some essential oils or light a candle. Turn off the lights, close your eyes, and play soft music.

You’re practically at the spa!

Take a Bath

If you’re a bath person, lock yourself in the bathroom for a good soak and maybe some reading. Drop a bath bomb (you can even make your own), and let your body relax. And don’t forget to bring a glass of wine. We all know that’s truly the best way a gal can relax after a crazy week!

What are some of your favorite ways to relax?

besos, Alina

These are perfect ideas for a spa day at home. I love lighting candles to relax, but I’ll have to try some of these as well!
