Early Spring Capsule Wardrobe: A Few Favorites to Wear on Repeat this Season

This early spring capsule wardrobe has everything you need to make comfortable and stylish outfits for this transitional weather. If you’re looking for great seasonal basics to build your dream capsule wardrobe here are a few of my favorite pieces I plan to wear on repeat all season long.

How to Create a Capsule Wardrobe

It might sound complicated at first, but essentially a capsule wardrobe is simply a collection of clothing items that interchangeably work together to create a variety of outfits.

These pieces I’m sharing below all work as a great basis to create different looks from casual errands to great work staples and even date night.

Think of these pieces as a first layer of your closet, made to help you create comfortable and effortless outfits without the fatigue and endless decision making.

Let’s Start with Spring Capsule Wardrobe Basics

If you’re looking to create a great spring capsule closet, let’s start with the basics. To me that will always be jeans and t shirts.

Denim

One of the things I love about current trends is that they are leaning towards comfort. After spending decades in heels and ultra tight tops and skinny jeans—it’s kind of nice to dress for comfort, and being in style while doing it.

I have a few 90s High rise straight jeans by Abercrombie. I love how they fit and would highly recommend getting a pair in black or white for the Spring season and to build your spring closet.

Another pair of jeans I’m loving are the Levi’s. The simple straight leg is a great option to put on your spring capsule wardrobe list.

The best white t shirt in my opinion is by Madewell. I love it for the price and the fit. A new simple white tee can easily elevate your everyday style.

Another basic top I added for spring is a long sleeve scoop neck.

Spring Shoes Round Up

Sneakers are still everywhere and you won’t find me complaining. I love how a pair of white sneakers can pair with dresses and even slacks. It’s a perfect item to add to your spring capsule wardrobe

Most recently I purchased a pair of Adidas sambas and I absolutely love them as a stylish sneaker option for Spring.

To look trendy this season toss your no show socks and invest in some ankle socks.  This is a hard transition to make, mainly because we’ve been wearing no show socks for a decade…. but I promise once you slowly transition into a nice pair of socks your ankles will thank you. So cozy.

If you’re not into sneakers with every outfit, loafers and ballet flats are a great option.

I’ve tried these Everlane ballet flats and they’re extremely soft Italian leather and are true to size. A great shoe option for Spring ( and fall).

My Go To Outerwear Picks For Early Spring Capsule Style

This is my favorite way to add a stylish twist to an otherwise plain or dare I say boring outfit. A blazer, a moto jacket or a denim jacket are all great for this transitional weather as well as the classic trench. However, what you have in your closet might feel outdated if it is fitted.

The current look is oversized. If your denim jacket is fitted or cropped it might be time to part with it or at least put in the back of your closet. To look stylish this season, invest in a denim shirt jacket like this one.

Jewelry

Little gold necklaces, especially small gold hoops are everywhere.

I recently purchased these inexpensive huggies and I’ve been wearing them nonstop. Super lightweight and pair easily with everything.

Funny enough, silver is now also making a comeback. I love these teardrop earrings that are designer inspired for fraction of the cost, and you get both the silver and gold pair.

Handbags & Totes

I recently did a round up of small handbags for spring, and I’ve been loving totes again. Lately I’ve been reaching the most for a woven satchel that I purchased from Amazon and my Clare V bum bag—they’re both such great and affordable options for Spring.

Another two bags I’ve had my eye on and will likely purchase for Spring is the classic Longchamp tote, it will be a perfect “mom” bag for soccer weekends, and Nagheni St. Barths tote for travel.

Belts

To be honest, I have not been into belts, but after seeing them styled I’ve been on the hunt for a belt I can wear interchangeably with items in my closet. Just one simple belt that I can wear with jeans and slacks, but also maybe with dresses and over blazers—have you seen that trend?

I have my eye on this Madewell belt. It’s just so chic and looks incredibly luxe. I love it in this camel color to wear with white jeans, but also love the classic black one with the silver details.
