In the summer my uniform fluctuates between flowy dresses and denim shorts paired with various tees and tops. But, when I was meeting a friend for happy hour, I thought it would be nice to dress up a bit. Or say, dress as if I was meeting her after a job, ( if I had one). When I was part of the working force, structured shorts were a staple of my work attire. In general, they’re more comfortable than skirts, pair well with blazers and blouses and look great with heels.
Who wears short shorts, you may ask? Regardless of your body type, shorts are flattering and stylish on anyone and a great wardrobe mainstay—before I purchased these new ones (dupe here for under $25, thanks to Nordstrom’s anniversary sale) the shorts I had in my closet were at least 10 years old. So, the pair you’ll invest in today will never go out of style and will be in constant rotation. I promise!
I love the bow tie front, which gives me a little breathing room and I love that I can make these casual with a pair of Converse or dress them up with a heel. I also love the ruffles on these! ( On sale for 40% off!). I can see myself wearing them to date night or a girls night out. So much more comfortable than a mini skirt!
Whether you’re pairing them with a simple tee or styling them with a silky blouse and blazer, these shorts are versatile enough to take you from day to night, mom life to happy hour and beyond. Have I convinced you to give them a try? Should I mention how flattering they are with that super cute bow tie?!
