Five Ways to Recover From a Cold Fast

A Russian proverb says, take cold medicine you’ll be sick for seven days. Don’t take cold medicine you’ll be sick for seven days. But I don’t believe that’s true. Here are five ways to recover from a cold fast.

How fast can you recover from a cold?

It all depends how quickly you act to remedy your symptoms, and allow your body to do

its thing to help you get rid of a cold and flu fast.

Five Ways to Recover from a Cold Fast

1.Set Up Your Headquarters

If you’re going to spend most of your day in bed, you might as well have everything

you want at your fingertips.

It’s time to stream a show you likely wouldn’t admit to anyone you actually watch. For me it’s Scandal.

Is anyone still watching it?

A stack of magazines, tissues, and of course my phone, as well as comfy PJs, extra pillows and blankets makes me feel cozy and happy in bed.

2. Get on a Medicinal Schedule

It may sound silly, but to cure a cold fast you have to start by taking the right medicine.

I usually turn to Theraflu, a powerful relief without a prescription.

It also tackles a multitude of symptoms, like sore throat, congestion, fever and cough.

TYLENOL® Cold + Flu Severe Day/Night in my sick day kit.

It is the #1 doctor recommended pain relief brand, so having it in my home is a must.

3. Liquid Diet & Chicken Soup for the Soul

Staying hydrated is the ultimate key and one of the best natural remedies for a cold and flu.

To keep my body energized enough to fight my sickness I drink a lot of tea.

Lipton’s new wellness range of herbal supplements, boosted with botanicals is an unique combination of 3 botanicals, blended with essential oils.

To avoid a caffeine buzz, I like to sip on Bedtime Bliss.

Which is chamomile, mint, orange peels and is caffeine free.

When you’re sick you likely don’t feel like cooking so opt for  Campbell’s® chicken noodle soup. It’ll warm up your insides and it’s pretty good with a few Premium Crackers.

4.Grooming Rituals

Let’s focus on the positive. Yes. There is an upside to being sick.

If you have a cold, it’s the perfect time to pamper yourself.

If I’m stuck in bed, I might as well pluck some unwanted hair,

give myself a foot massage,

do my nails, maybe try a face mask, or an eye mask.

Something about pampering myself on the outside helps not only pass the time in bed,

but also makes me feel productive, while lounging around.

5. Let it Be

Emails, projects, babies will all be taken cared of while you recover.

I feel strongly that if you don’t allow your body the rest it needs when you first feel the symptoms of a cold, your sickness will last longer.

Stop. Let your body and mind rest and focus on recovering instead of the world around you!
