DIY 4th of July Wreath

This 4th of July wreath is one of my favorite DIY decorating ideas to date. Paper roses make this stunning holiday wreath idea a true standout.

Initially I saw this felt paper rose wreath DIY on Pinterest for Valentine’s day. Instead of using felt paper, I used sheets of construction paper. In retrospect, felt would probably uphold better if you plan on hanging your decorative wreath outside.

The paper roses on my DIY wreath did fade a little, but that also gave me an opportunity to upcycle that wreath into this 4th of July DIY wreath.

Another reason I liked this wreath idea was for how easy it was to make and aso that you didn’t have to be perfect. The paper roses do not have to be uniform. Actually this DIY wreath idea looks even better when the roses vary in size.

To make the wreath, cut  your 8 x 11  construction paper into four rectangles. Then cut your rectangles into circles. They do not have to be perfect.

Cut each circle into a spiral.  Again, perfection is not necessary.

Once the spirals are cut, start to roll the paper into a rose starting from the outside. Roll it as tight as possible.

Use hot glue on the bottom base then hold your flower in pace for a few minutes while it dries into a rose shape you want. I must warn you this process takes a little bit of time, but I found this 4th of July DIY fun and relaxing. I completed it over a few evenings.
